- Is PORT a locked facility?
No. Of course we lock our doors at night, and keep certain interior doors locked, but we are not a secure detention facility.
- What is the average length of stay of a resident?
The length of stay is determined by the needs of the resident and referral agent. Residents may stay anywhere from a few months to a year or contract with us for just a weekend, or a series of weekends.
- Is there a chemical dependency component to your program?
Many residents arrive at PORT with chemical dependency issues. While at PORT residents may participate in a nearby outpatient chemical dependency program. There is also an inpatient option. Sometimes residents enroll inpatient, then return to PORT.
- Does PORT provide transportation?
Yes, PORT can transport residents to court appointments. Intake transportation may be available depending on the circumstances surrounding the admission.
- Is PORT a co-ed facility?
PORT has four group homes for boys and girls, ages 10-18.
- Does PORT accept voluntary placements?
Most residents are placed at PORT by referral agents from a county, but adolescents may also be placed at PORT by a parent and/or guardian.
